impromptu garden

what started out as a quick trip to our favorite plant nursery to pick up a bag of soil turned into quite the weekend project  - involving much drinking, friends and barbecuing! the mild climate of long beach area is very nice - not too hot to plant, even in mid-summer! (such a contrast to the extremely hot phoenix summers i have been so accustomed to... yay, our first garden!!!

we have planted herbs + veggies: rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano, cilantro, lavender, green bean, onion, eggplant, zucchini, romaine, arugula. and everything is doing great a week later; no casualties!

etsy shop is up + running again!

after a nice, long hiatus, i have decided it's time to start again. i have missed having my shop! i am so happy that new items are starting to appear. yes! now, just to find my workbench once more to start in on the next project. i can make quite a mess :)

best honeymoon ever!

our honeymoon was perfect! we spent a week supremely chilling out + exploring the groves nestled within the "avenue of the giants", camping amidst the 2000 year old redwoods of northern california and hanging with deer, stellar's jays + even a river otter! roasting weenies over the campfire was also a big daily highlight.

on the way back to long beach, we enjoyed the coast around big sur and spent the afternoon at pirate cove + filled up our water jug from a natural mountain spring. it was a most spectacular trip!

wedding favors

these turned out ADORABLE! my parents helped me tie them all...

beautiful living succulent centerpieces

our guests LOVED these and almost all of them found a home! a beautiful metaphor as well... all handmade by john and i by utilizing the process of transplanting cuttings and making many smaller arrangements from one large succulent. i am so pleased everyone enjoyed them. they were made with love!

bowling pins...from space

part of our centerpieces for wedding reception tables at the bowling alley. later affixed to purple ceramic tiles for stability and coolness :) so rad!
